EP 05: Applying to PT School as a Mature Student with Logan Wood

Dec 21, 2021 | 0 comments

Welcome to The PhysioSchool Podcast – your guide to becoming a physiotherapist.

In this episode, we sit down with our first ever guest – Logan Wood.

Logan was a classmate of Anthony and Reid’s back at Queen’s University, and she’s now out here living her best physiotherapy life! After working in Ontario for the first two years of her career, Logan has recently moved back to the east coast and is now working in the public health sector in Nova Scotia.

Prior to jumping into her career, Logan took a long and winding road to get to PT school. After meandering her way through a variety of experiences and big life changes during her 20s, Logan eventually decided to pursue the PT route at 31 years of age.

As a former mature applicant herself, Logan has a ton of great insight to share with future mature PT school applicants. During our discussion with Logan, we talk about the following:

  • What Logan was doing career-wise before deciding to pursue physiotherapy
  • Logan’s undergraduate degree
  • What made Logan choose physiotherapy as a career
  • Logan’s PT-related experiences
  • Logan’s experience applying to PT school as a mature student
  • Logan’s advice for future PT school applicants
  • How Logan’s career as a physiotherapist is going so far
